Why Should I Get an NVQ Qualification as an Experienced Worker?

CSCS Test

Working on a construction site can be quite dangerous if you are not trained to be on the construction site. Getting an NVQ Qualification is necessary for workers to be on the site. Such qualifications not only raise the standard of construction but also ensure the safety of the construction site worker. Also, big companies will not hire you if you do not have a Construction NVQ because it will resist you from obtaining a CITB CSCS Card Online Checker, which is essential for procuring entry to the construction site.

What is NVQ Qualification?

The full form of the term NVQ is National Vocational Qualification. It is a qualification that is recognized nationally and is a proof of your expertise and skills in the field of your preferred occupation.

NVQ’s can be obtained on different subjects in the construction industry and there are different levels ranging from 1 to 7 to which NVQ’s can be achieved. The subjects in which NVQ’s can be obtained are plastering, ductwork, demolition of structures, carpentry and so on. The higher the number is of the worker’s NVQ the more qualified he is deemed to be.

If a worker has an NVQ, he can be assessed whilst he is on the construction site and he does not need to have to miss the work of a day. Moreover, if an experienced worker has NVQ Qualification, his job prospects will be much better that is he will be offered better jobs if he has NVQ Qualification than when he does not have an NVQ, but with the same level of experience and expertise. And the higher the level of his NVQ, the more alluring he will be to employers.

How to get an NVQ Qualification?

Getting an NVQ Qualification is not as difficult as you are imagining it to be. You need not leave your job and attend a college regularly. After you apply for it, an assessor will visit your workplace and evaluate your skills and performance and will ask you to accomplish various errands as per the NVQ criteria and will provide you with a feedback. To get an NVQ you do not need to have any former qualification. It usually takes about 2 to 3 weeks (depends on level) to get an NVQ Qualification but the time also depends upon the level of the NVQ you have applied for. It will take much longer to complete an NVQ of a higher level than that of a lower level.

After you are finished with your Construction NVQ training you can opt for a CSCS card for which you will need to qualify the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test.
